What was your first costume and why?
The Tomb Raider reboot game was the first Tomb Raider game I had ever played and I loved it immensely. I loved her character and personality. She connected with me on a deep level in terms of getting over fears and to keep fighting for what you want. So her outfit in that game was what I wanted to do first. It's taken 5 or so years to get all the bits and bobs right and the guts to actually wear it outside but I did it.
What is the biggest challenge you've overcome while crafting your cosplay?
The biggest challenge has mainly been overcoming myself doubt and hatred. I'm a plus sized gal trying to cosplay a very fit and athletic woman. It was hard to finally decide to go to a convention dressed as someone like that, especially because I didn't want to do Lara or all the other wonderful Lara cosplayers out there a disservice. But then I thought, would Lara let something like that hold her back? So here I am.
